On September 19th, 2024, Myles received a life-saving liver transplant.
Words cannot express how grateful we are to the generous donor. Their decision has profoundly impacted our lives, giving Myles a new chance at life. The past year has been a challenging journey, filled with ups and downs. We are deeply thankful for everyone who has supported us through this time—your love, encouragement, and prayers have meant the world to us.
Myles spent three weeks in the ICU due to breathing issues following the transplant, but he is a fighter, and we are hopeful as he progresses. After 226 days at The Hospital for Sick Children, Myles was discharged to the Ronald McDonald House. After 283 days, 10 months… We finally were able to bring Myles home. We will continue with routine bloodwork at a lab close to home and will visit the Transplant Clinic as needed from here on out. We are hopeful we wont require any more admissions to hospital but should that day come, we will be prepared for it!
For those who wanted to be living donors for Myles but were unable to do so, we want to encourage you to consider becoming an anonymous organ donor. Every year, countless individuals are in need of life-saving transplants, and your decision to donate could change someone’s life forever. If it’s in your heart to help, please explore this possibility. Your selflessness and compassion can bring hope to others who are waiting for a second chance.Thank you all for your continued support and for keeping Myles in your thoughts and prayers.
